If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk in my garden forever. (Claudia Ghandi)
July 19, 2006, we lost our wonderful daughter- a kind, generous, giving soul, who loved her family and friends with a passion.

Wow, beckie, i didn't realize it was so recently you lost her. My thoughts are with you. And I've been seeing more dragonflies this year (since I've known you) than ever before in my garden!
My dear Beckie.....I always think of you and your dear daughter everytime I see a dragonfly. They will always belong to you both, they only pass through my garden, to reach both your souls.
You post with such dignity, and quietness.....and the photographs say a lot today Beckie, they really do.....
I am sure somewhere out there your daughter is smiling....smiling on you all.....
God bless you my friend.....
My thoughts are with your family today. Thanks for sharing some beautiful pictures with us.
My thoughts are with you on this very sad day Beckie. Best wishes.
What beautiful pictures especially the last one. I know your heart is heavy now. Hugs to you and S.
Dearest Beckie, what a sad day for all of you.
I am sure there are dragonflies, butterflies and flowers all over Heaven - and your dearest daughter is in the midst of them all, smiling down on her family and loving....
I can see you've chosen those pics with care. They are simply beautiful.
Hugs
Monica, the dragonflies do seem to be more in evidence this year. I wonder if it is because of the wetter weather and more mosquitos.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. :)
Cheryl, how sweet you are! We always think she is near when we see a dragonfly. Even her young daughters are aware of them.
Thank you for your warm thoughts of us. They are so apppreciated. I was a little hesitant about this post, but did it for me as much as anything-if that makes sense.
You are such a dear friend. :)
Katie, thank you and Chris for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed the photos.
Tina, thank you. Did you notice the orange bush of flowers? Those are cosmos from seeds you sent Rose. She shared them with me and they did so well. I have them in several places in my garden and in a couple of containers. They make me smile when I see them.
Lisa, it is getting easier to focus on the good times. But I suppose this day will always be a day of sadness.
I do remember the support of family and friends. It meant so much to have you and DB here with us.
I am glad you enjoyed the flowers. There is so much blooming in my gardens now. I suspect the rain and cooler weather has encouraged them.
Wendy, I like to think she is surrounded by all those things she loved. And I do think of her as smiling down on us and keeping a watchful eye on her family and friends.
Thank you for your kind support-blogging friends are the best! :)
I'm so sorry Beckie. It's hard to imagine the heartbreak of losing a child. My thoughts are with you and your family as you honor your beautiful daughter. (((Hugs)))
Oh my Beckie, I am so sorry to hear that you lost your daughter. That is not the way it should be. I am sure you see her in every aspect of your life. Nice tribute.
Beckie, I think of her every time I see a dragonfly now. I know this is a difficult day for you...people say that pain lessens with time, and I'm sure it has for you as you've learned to cope and move on. This day will always be filled with memories, but I hope the good ones overshadow the sad ones. Your flowers are beautiful, and I enjoyed walking around your garden seeing them all last week. This is a beautiful post, and the quote is perfect. I'm sure she's smiling down on you and enjoying every time the granddaughters spend time smelling the flowers with you.
Linda, thanks for the hug and for thinking of us. I appreciate it. :)
Janet, your kind words mean a lot. I see her in her 4 girls and they fill me with joy.
Rose, you have such a talent for saying the right things. :) I know you miss her too.
I try to focus on the good memories, even today. I had seen the 'angel' quote a while back, but was so pleased to find the flower one too. I thought it perfect for a gardener.
Smiles are much needed on such a sad day. So glad those cosmos are doing well. They are sure sunny in the garden. It tickles me pink when others grow plants from my garden in their gardens. Enjoy and please take care. Smile.
Beckie, I'm so sorry. It is hard, especially on holidays and anniversary days.I have a son running around in heaven with those butterflies and dragonflies too. He would be turning 20 on August 22.
You asked a question about the dragonfly pictures. I took those pictures at the White River Gardens at the Indy zoo. The butterfly exhibit is there. I try to go at least once a year.
Take care my friend!
My thoughts are with you Beckie at this time of the year. What a beautiful & touching way to honor her memory.
How touching - although I haven't experienced it firsthand, I have seen my parents struggle with the loss of an adult child. Too many people think that because the child is an adult, the parents don't feel the loss as much as one that is under 18. I hope you find comfort in your garden, in your family, and in your friends.
Tina, thank you. :) I am so enjoying the cosmos-they were so easy to start indoors and then transplant.
Robin, you have my prayers. And you are right, those are the harder times.
We took the grands to the Indy zoo last summer, but it got too late for us to see the butterfly house. Will have to take them back for it-it looks like a wonderful place for kids. And adults too. :)
Racquel, thank you. I appreciate all the support.
MMD, It is something no parent should have to go thru. I am sorry for your loss. I do find comfort in the garden and of course seeing those wonderful dragonflies. :)
Beckie, my thoughts are with you and your family. The flowers and dragonflies are such a fitting tribute to a beautiful life. Thank you for sharing with us.
Hi Beckie, a very sad anniversary. Someone once told me it's harder for parents to lose a child because it just is not the natural order of things.
Your garden is lovely. I'm glad the butterflies are visiting you. I see almost none here.
Marnie
Oh Beckie, my heart hurts for you, reading this post. You're right that there will be dragonflies and butterfies and flowers around your daughter--and around you--always.
My dear, There are hardly enough words that can console someone who has had such a terrible loss...but know that I thinking about you and sending you hugs and prayers....May dragonflies and butterflies always be near you~~gail
Beckie, I'm so sorry you lost your daughter. I'll be keeping you in my prayers my friend.
Beckie:wishing you peace and comfort on this day of all days. A beautiful moving tribute to your angel daughter. hugs
Dear Beckie ~ for many reasons I feel never far away from you. Sometimes less is more ... words fall short ... my arms are long and wrap around you and my heart beats with the rhythm of your broken heart. Your quote speaks ... "If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk in my garden forever". (Claudia Ghandi) Love from me to you.
Your photos are beautiful, and I really love your beginning and ending quote, and what a beautiful tribute to your daughter. My thoughts are with you.
Aiyana
Diane, thank you for your caring thoughts.
Marnie, I appreciate your concern. A few butterflies, but not like last year.
Beckie, I know all too well that those grief anniversaries are tough. I lost my two dearest friends in 2002 and 2008, respectively. Not a day goes by that they aren't with me somehow. Thank you for sharing the beauty of your garden with us and for allowing us to honor your daughter's memory with you.
I think heaven has all those too Beckie. Your garden is really pretty right now ~ maybe your daughter is your gardening angel & helping out? I really believe she must know how much she's missed & loved by you & your family especially on this day of her passing. Hugs.
Jodi, such comforting words. I appreciate your kindness. :)
Gail, hugs and prayers are always welcome. You are such a dear!
Susie, thank you for your thoughtfulness. :)
Anna, she would laugh at the thought of being and angel. She didn't see it, but the rest of us did.
Joey, Andrea's middle name was Jo and the nieces all called her Joey. I think that is why I felt close to you. :) I thank you for your warm hugs.
Aiyana, I love both of those quotes, too. They seemed so appropriate for her. Thank you for your caring.
Cindy, those we have loved are always with us aren't they? Thank you for your lovely words.
Kathleen, yes, I am sure heaven is a garden full of flowers! How could it not be?? I appreciate your kindness. :)
I am so sorry, Beckie. Words can't express how sad this is. I am sending thoughts and prayers your way. Heaven is full of such flowers.~~Dee
This is a lovely tribute. I can tell from the photo that Andrea was a kind-hearted person.
